Patton Oswalt's Facebook response to Boston Marathon bombing goes viral - The Star-Ledger - NJ.com

After two bombs went off at the finish line of the Boston Marathon Monday, leaving three dead and injuring more than 140 people, actor and comedian Patton Oswalt, like millions of others, took to social media to respond to the tragedy.

Unlike most other responses however, Oswalt's quickly went viral.

Oswalt wrote on his Facebook page: "I remember, when 9/11 went down, my reaction was, "Well, I've had it with humanity.

But I was wrong. I don't know what's going to be revealed to be behind all of this mayhem. One human insect or a poisonous mass of broken sociopaths."

Oswalt, 44, is best known as the voice of Remy in the 2007 animated film "Ratatouille" and for his role in the FX hit series "Justified."

Speaking of Monday's events, Oswalt continued: "But here's what I DO know. If it's one person or a HUNDRED people, that number is not even a fraction of a fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population on this planet. You watch the videos of the carnage and there are people running TOWARDS the destruction to help out."

He closed his response by writing, "So when you spot violence, or bigotry, or intolerance or fear or just garden-variety misogyny, hatred or ignorance, just look it in the eye and think, 'The good outnumber you, and we always will.' "

As of this morning, the post had been shared more than 200,000 times and had garnered more than 270,000 likes.

Meanwhile, authorities appealed to the public today for help in identifying whoever carried out the gruesome attack. Police and federal agents asked the public for amateur video and photos in hopes it would yield clues as to who is responsible for the deadly act of terror.

Communist Vietnam -- Human Trafficker Extraordinaire - American Thinker

Vietnam is now the proud possessor of the inglorious title "The Worst Human Rights Violator in Southeast Asia," according to recent testimony before the House Committee on Foreign Affairs. State-affiliated labor export companies are major suppliers of men, women, and children to the forced labor and sex trafficking markets, while government officials profit from kickbacks. Statistics on Vietnam's human trafficking range widely; though accurate information about this communist country is hard to find. Vietnam's Ministry of Public Security offers an official figure of 2,935 Vietnamese who were subjected to human trafficking between 2004 and 2009. However, international organizations report a far larger number; more than 400,000 victims since 1990. Even this covers only those reported as victims, omitting untold tens of thousands of abuses that go unnoticed, especially in the labor force. Exporting workers is nothing new for Vietnam. After the 1975 communist ta

Richie Havens dies at 72; singer became Woodstock's opening act - Los Angeles Times

Richie Havens, the veteran folk singer whose frenetic guitar strumming and impassioned vocals made him one of the defining voices and faces of Woodstock and 1960s pop music, died Monday of a heart attack at his home in Jersey City, N.J. He was 72. His death was confirmed by his booking agent, Tim Drake. The Brooklyn native with the powerful ripsaw voice galvanized rock fans as the opening act at Woodstock, the festival billed as "Three Days of Peace and Music" in upstate New York in August 1969. His performance of "Freedom/Motherless Child," adapted from a black spiritual he learned as a child, became a landmark anthem of the event, which included performances by Jimi Hendrix, The Who, and Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. "Richie Havens was one of the nicest, most generous and pure individuals I have ever met," Stephen Stills said in a statement Monday. "He always caught fire every time he played." Originally scheduled as the fifth act o
