ParkerCurryMeanwhile, his San Antonio Spurs counterpart, Tony Parker, sat out practice Saturday with a bruised left calf, but said he would "definitely" play Sunday.
"If he goes, he goes," Warriors coach Mark Jackson said of Curry. "If he doesn't, then Jarrett Jack will be our starting point guard."
Those aren't reassuring words to Warriors fans who booed Jack and used his name in vain on the way out of Oracle Arena on Friday night. That reaction came after Jack missed a 3-pointer in a no-pass possession and threw the ball away late in the Warriors' 102-92 loss in Game 3, giving the Spurs a 2-1 lead in the series
However, Jack sounded confident Saturday that he could handle the job if asked to replace the Warriors' leading scorer and the playoffs' top assist man.
"I've done it many, many, many times," said Jack, who has started 253 regular-season and four playoff games during his eight-year NBA career. "It won't be anything [where] I've got to go in there and read a Phil Jackson Zen book or anything. I've just got to come out there and be ready to lead our team."
Curry sprained the ankle while he attempted to gather himselfafter a pump fake with five minutes remaining in the fourth quarter. He limped around, but ultimately remained in the game. Since scoring 44 points in Game 1, Curry has struggled with his shot, missing 25-of-37 field-goal attempts over the past two games.
Parker was having his best game of the playoffs when he inadvertently was kicked in the calf by Warriors center Andrew Bogut in the fourth quarter. Parker scored 32 points and made 13-of-23 shots, but only one of his field goals came in the final quarter.
"I couldn't elevate," Parker said. "My last couple shots were short and I missed my free throws. I couldn't feel my leg. Hopefully [Sunday], I'll feel better."
Parker said the bruise felt like he had a baseball in his left leg.
"It's really sore right now," Parker said. "I just can't see myself not playing. I'll definitely play."
